Trivia Squares 5 - Rules

This game is based on the board game of Quizwrangle.

Try to get three of your counters to the red area on the left before
Square Bear gets three of his counters to the red area on the right.

How to Play

Click on the flashing red START icon to begin playing.

In this game you play against Square Bear and take turns to roll the category dice: either the original categories may be accepted, or you can reroll one, two or all three dice - but only one reroll is allowed. Click on the dice to lock them.
Have you ever played poker dice or Yahtzee? It's the same idea.

Your counter automatically moves one square towards the right in the lanes indicated by the categories on the dice.
If you throw a question mark, tough - you miss a question!

Now you will be asked questions from the appropriate categories. If you answer correctly, you move an extra square towards the right in that lane; if you answer incorrectly, stay where you are.

If your dice include the same category two or three times, you only get to answer the question once - but if you answer correctly, you move two extra squares in the appropriate lane, rather than the usual one and three extra squares if all three dice show the same category.

In order to nullify the advantage of having the first roll, your first roll is only two dice and you are not permitted a reroll. After this, all three dice are used by you.

As Square Bear is unable to answer any questions (as he would get them right every time), he is allowed to roll four dice instead of the usual three. If you get a counter into your red area, he will be allowed to roll five dice.
Should you get two counters into your area, Square Bear will roll six dice.
Don't worry if it sounds confusing, all will be clear when you play.

The game is won by the first player to get three counters into their red squares.
It's rather like 9 simultaneous tugs-of war.

You start the game with a score of 500 and after every move the scores under the counters are either added or taken away from your score. If you score less than zero, your score will be set to zero. A tip for a high score is to try and get two of your counters into your area for as long as you can without letting Square Bear win.
Be careful though, if Square Bear wins, your score is set to zero!
